German forensic scientist Dr. Frank Tschentscher visited Fada Institute of Forensic Medicine and Science

On April 14th, 2016, German forensic scientist Dr. Frank Tschentscher led a six-member delegation visited Fada Institute of Forensic Medicine and Science (FdFS), affiliated to the Institute of Evidence Law and Forensic Science (IELFS).

Dr. Frank Tschentscher is now a forensic biologist in the Forensic Science Institute of the State Criminal Police Office in North Rhine-Westfalia (LKA NRW). There he heads a laboratory unit within the largest Forensic DNA-laboratory in Germany, which is also one of the largest in Europe.

The Vice dean of IELFS and deputy director of FdFS, Professor Xu WANG and our representatives of teachers and students gave a warm reception to these visiting German forensic experts. The two sides adequately exchanged their academic views of current professional hot issues in forensic science, and agreed to keep in interaction and cooperation in the future, to promote science and technology exchanges in the field of forensic science between China and Germany. Dr. Frank Tschentscher gave a report on "Forensic DNA and forensic pathology in Germany". JFSM (Journal of Forensic Science and Medicine) editorial director, Professor Dong ZHAO introduced the development and current situation of forensic science in China on behalf of FdFS, involving forensic pathology, forensic clinical medicine, forensic biology, etc.
