Collaborative Innovation Center of Judicial Civilization Established Forensic Technology Research Center in University of New Haven, US

Collaborative Innovation Center of Judicial Civilization and the University of New Haven’s Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science announced the formation of the China-U.S. Forensic Technology Research Center on Jan 26, 2016. Attending the ceremony were Professor Baosheng Zhang, co-chair of the Collaborative Innovation Center of Judicial Civilization, Professor Lin Chang, dean of the Institute of Evidence Law and Forensic Science, Associate Professor Jianwei Liu and Dr. Shiquan Liu from China and Dr Henry C Lee, UNH President Steven H. Kaplan, Timothy Palmbach, Mario Thomas Gaboury and Lee. William Yeh, CEO of CSI Technology Group in Somerset, N.J., from the US attended the ceremony as well.

Professor Baosheng Zhang introduced the background, missions, functions and situations of the “2011 Plan”-Collaborative Innovation Center of Judicial Civilization and he said that the establishment of the China US Forensic Technology Research Center will strengthen the cooperation between CUPL and UNH in the field of forensic science.

The joint center will focus on developing and utilizing new forensic technology to enhance forensic investigation, identification and data mining in both countries. The mission of this joint center is to link scholars, researchers, students, forensic scientists, investigators, the legal community and professional practitioners in many fields to address the scientific issues confronting forensic science and criminal justice system throughout the world.

“This is a milestone for forensic research and development,” said Henry C. Lee, UNH chaired professor and renowned forensic scientist.  “The new center will focus on training and research of using the newest technology in combating global crime.”
